Match Report – Silsden Stormettes U15 vs Heworth Dragons
The Silsden Stormettes U15s took on a powerful Heworth side and, despite a challenging start, showed huge heart, resilience and teamwork throughout the game.
Heworth opened strongly, racing into a 24–0 lead as the Stormettes took time to settle. But once they found their rhythm, the girls began to show what they’re capable of. Sharp passing and determined running saw Jess crash over the line just before half-time, giving Silsden a well‑earned boost and reducing the deficit to 24–4 at the break.
The Stormettes came out for the second half with real intent, piling on the pressure and forcing Heworth to work hard.
Although Heworth extended their lead to 30–4 with some powerful running, Silsden hit back brilliantly. Excellent ball movement and relentless pressing opened space for Bell to score, and Daisy calmly added the conversion to make it 30–10.
Heworth responded quickly with another converted try, pushing the score to 36–10, but the Stormettes refused to back down. Bo, strong and fearless in the centre, bulldozed her way through defenders to score a superb try. Daisy slotted her second conversion of the day, closing the gap to 36–16.
That’s where the score remained, but the Stormettes fought for every point and showed incredible spirit against the strongest team in the league.
