Stanningley U15s vs Silsden Stormettes U15

May 16, 2026

Stanningley 32 – 16 Silsden Stormettes

One of those days you just have to chalk off as a bad day at the office.

Stanningley very quick off the mark and some early errors from the Stormettes saw them fall to an early 6-0 deficit.

Silsden rallied with some big carries and some great running from Bo, Bell and Ruby, that eventually allowed Jess to collect the ball for Silsden’s first try.
Daisy stepped up, cool as ever and slotted the conversion home. 6-6.

More defensive errors from Silsden saw the ball turned over and despite some great defensive play from Kiesse, Brooke, Harriet and India, Stanningley found a way through to make it 14-6.

New girl Lucy was instrumental in trying to drag Silsden back into the game, backed up by recent signing Nell, but again Silsden lost control and Stanningley stretched the lead to 20-6.

Some pressure from Silsden from the kick off saw the ball back in Silsden’s hands and good passing and communication from Dee, Ella and Ev saw the ball find its way to Harriet who used her pace and power to score in the corner.
An almost impossible angle made the kick just too much for Daisy despite her best efforts.

Stanningley took control again and pushed the score to 26-10, before some great running from India, Harriet and Daisy allowed Bo to barge through the defence before cleverly slotting it through to Jess to score her second of the game.

Stanningley soon back on top despite pressure from Lyra, Ruby, Lucy and Nell, eventually winning the contest 32-16.

Plenty to work on before Bassetlaw on the 30th, but battling to the end.

Fantastic to see a return for Sofia too, coming back from a serious collarbone injury and stepping onto the field for the last 15 mins, and great to see the new girls, many having crossed over from Union, making their mark.
