Keighley Albion U9 vs Silsden Storm U9 & Queensbury U9

U9s Kick Off League Campaign in Style

Today marked the official start of the U9 league fixtures, with the first mini festival hosted by Keighley Albion. Silsden Storm joined Keighley Albion and Queensbury in a competitive morning of rugby, with all three teams going head-to-head across four rounds of games.

Silsden Storm fielded two squads, Storm A and Storm B, giving every player the chance to get stuck into the action. Across both teams, the effort and attitude were spot on.

There was some brilliant rugby on show. Strong, direct running, confident offloading, and some really committed tackling throughout. Storm A put in a standout performance, going unbeaten across the festival and showing great teamwork and composure in every game.

Storm B, meanwhile, showed incredible determination and resilience. No matter the scoreline, they never gave in, battling right to the final whistle in every match and showing real character throughout.

It wasn’t without its challenges. Both Keighley Albion and Queensbury proved to be tough, well-drilled sides, giving Storm plenty to think about. But that’s exactly what these festivals are for. Learning, adapting, and improving with every game.

There’s plenty to take forward, and just as much to be proud of.

The next round of fixtures takes place at Queensbury on Sunday 19th April, where the three teams will meet again for the second leg of the group.

A great start to the league campaign. Plenty more to come.
