Everyone at Silsden Storm is incredibly proud to celebrate former Stormette, Olyssa, who has officially signed for the Leeds Rhinos Women’s Team. It’s a huge milestone, and honestly, not one that’s come as a surprise to those who saw her play early on.
Olyssa was part of the very first girls’ team at Silsden. Back then, it was already clear she had something special. Not just talent, but that mix of drive and determination you can’t really teach. The kind that keeps you pushing when others might stop.
Although her journey took her to West Bowling, where she continued to develop her game, she’s always been part of the Storm story. Watching her progress over the years has been something special for the club, her coaches, and everyone who’s followed her journey.
Now, stepping onto the stage with the Rhinos and continuing her pathway with England, she’s showing exactly what’s possible. For the younger players coming through, it’s more than just a success story. It’s proof. Proof that starting at a local grassroots club can lead to something much bigger.
Every player starts somewhere. For Olyssa, that journey began right here at Silsden Stormettes.
