Match Report – Silsden Stormettes vs Featherstone Lionesses

The Silsden Stormettes took to the field today for their first league match of the season. With a few absences the girls arrived slightly depleted, but still stood 13 strong against a Featherstone Lionesses side who had 16 players available. Unfazed by the numbers, the Stormettes were fired up and ready to play.

What followed was one of the best performances we’ve ever seen from this team. From the first whistle the girls played with energy, confidence and teamwork, with tries coming thick and fast. To list them all would make this post far too long, but it was a fantastic display of rugby league with every single player contributing, whether that meant crossing the line or putting in the hard yards in defence and support play.

Featherstone never stopped competing and deserve credit for the fight they showed, but on the day they were simply outmatched by some superb rugby league from the Stormettes.

Final Score:

Silsden Stormettes 62 – 8 Featherstone Lionesses

There were some fantastic individual efforts worth mentioning. Isabella was unstoppable at times with powerful runs and a brilliant hat-trick of tries. Jess showed her trademark pace with those signature darting runs through the opposition line. India impressed with quick thinking and fast feet, while Ella-Grace showed incredible determination — despite picking up a knock she kept getting back up and working tirelessly to defend our wings.

Today’s Awards:

🏉 Coaches Best Forward – Isabella
🏉 Coaches Best Back – Jess
